Steve Arthur, business guy/founding partner

Steve Arthur, also know as "The Design Guy" entered the world of timber frame design in 1983 after completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and graduating with honors from The University of Montana. Arthur combines a true craftsman's talent and understanding of fine homebuilding with an artist eye for detail. This complementary marriage of art and skill result in some of the finest timber frame designs in the country.

Steve's passion and commitment to traditional building is evident. Steve is proud to be a founding member of the Timber Framers Guild of North America, an association that is dedicated to promoting the centuries-old craft of timber framing. In addition to guild membership, he has continued to teach and mentor designers who enter to world of timber frame design.

Steve has given multiple presentations to the America Institute of Architects (AIA) and was the recipient of the 1987 Virginia AIA Craftsmanship Award for outstanding quality in the field of carpentry and joinery.

Steve Arthur is credited with designs that include modest homes to some of the largest free standing timber frame structures in America. In addition to homes, his work has included churches, barns, bridges, and towers.
