Scott Schoel, architect guy/ founding partner

Scott received his Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University with a minor in Interior Design. He has over two decades in both Commercial and Residential Architecture including working on projects all over the world.  Timber Framing became Scott's architectural focus in 1993, when became the founding member of Schoel Godwin Barnett, where he remains a senior partner, and Renaissance Woodworking over ten years ago. 

He is also our subject matter expert in the development of high end cabinetry, furniture, millwork, and doors; but the truth is Scott is much more than a "subject matter expert" - he has passion for the intricacies of woodworking and combines this love for his craft with an entrepreneurial spirit . Scott has received multiple recognitions including Brick Awards, AIA merits, and Green Building awards.

He lives in Decatur, Alabama with his wife, Susie and their four children. In his "spare" time, Scott (a former pro cyclist) is a triathlete.
